Bienvenido, awesome readers!

Sticky

Like any new blogger, I find myself floundering on my first blog. . . .I kept asking myself, “what to write, what to write?”.

I have baptized by dear blog ‘Voyvieage’ . . .I know, its a strange name – a combination of two French words, Voyage,  which means travel and Vie, which means life. It’s basically my feelings and opinions about anything interesting, funny, places, events, even fashion, food and restaurants.  Just anything and everything really.

So keep me company as I opine about stuff and get a hang of this blogging thing.

Oh! and stay tuned for my sweaty workout pics as I plan to share with you my weight loss drama.

Cheerio!

RESOLUTIONS : 2015

Standard

Dear Reader,

As promised, I am today writing about my 2015 resolution(s).

January is coming to a close; its time to be real with myself with regards to new resolutions;

I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out what I wanted then finally made many resolutions last year but I was not clear about. I ended up convincing myself, sighting a million reasons why I couldn’t commit to my resolutions and stick to them.

Well, this year, I know it. All I have to do is wake up each day and stand in front of a mirror and convince myself that I can do it.

Worms versus Giants: Today I saw a status update that really got me thinking. It said  ‘I am a Giant, not a worm’. Yes dear reader, this writer has bean looking at things from a worms perspective and this was part of the problem last year. I know that worms also have a role to play in the food chain, and I respect that, but I just want to be a giant! That’s all.

How do I become a giant this year? By dreaming gigantic dreams, setting colossal goals and going for my goals with a  positively gigantic attitude.
That is the only resolution I am making; that I am a giant, not a worm.

Here is to the year of Giants!

OF GREAT FOOD AND WARM HOSPITALITY

Standard

Dear Reader

I am afraid that my resolution to eat healthy is on its way to the dogs.  And have I told you about my new years resolutions? I will definitely tell you all about them at the end of this month.

Where was I? Ah!  I was letting you know that my resolution to eat healthy this year is going to the dogs. Why?

It’s thanks to a lovely restaurant in Nairobi.  For You Chinese restaurant is located at the junction of Ole Odume and Gitanga Road.  They serve delicious food a la carte and there is a wide array to choose from.

The ambiance is that of a lovely garden, so one can even dine Al fresco.  There is ample playing space and a lovely jungle gym in case you go with children.  However you will have to watch your own children, if they accompany you.

I am very sorry I did not get a chance take more photos. Next time!

When you go (yes, when, not if, because it’s only a matter of time and you will break your new year resolution to eat healthy as well!) ask for an awesome server called Mutiso.  He is awesome.

Let me know what you think of the food and Mutiso’s awesome service.

Having turned a certain age . . .

Standard

Dear Reader

Having turned a certain age, gained a certain number of decades, I find myself doing a lot of introspection; having a lot of conversations with myself (in my head and no I am not schizophrenic).  Here are some of the conclusions me, myself and I have come to.

Health – in the past couple of years I’ve become even more health conscious than I ever was in my twenties.

Love and relationships: I now know exactly what I want when it comes to love and relationships in general; I know what a healthy relationship is whether romantic or otherwise.

Career: I have recently discovered my passion ( I fervently wish I had discovered it in my twenties but hey! . . .) and I know what I want to do with my life as long as I can walk.

I am hoping to share more of my conversations with self in this blog.  I hope you will enjoy it!

Stay tuned!

XO

SUNDAY NIGHT

Standard

Dear Reader
The second weekend of 2015 has come to an end. Please note that it was very short (as all weekends usually are).

Last Sunday a young boy asked a CEO of a really big manufacturing company why he keeps going to work everyday early in the morning yet he’s the boss and can miss work if he wants to. The CEO told him that the secret is ‘to want to go to work’ not ‘to have to go to work’.

Well my dears, this woman here is changing her ‘ have to go’ to’ want to go to work’ this Sunday night. Call it a new year resolution or whatever but I refuse to fight the blues tomorrow morning.

I’ll definitely let you all know how that goes tomorrow.

Buena noche everybody!
